Partnership Opportunities

Building a better world takes more than good intentions. It takes hard work, land, and money. Our partners are committed to making a difference in their community by investing time, energy, and financial resources to meet the needs of very-low and low income families throughout Douglas County.

The need for affordable housing in Douglas County is continuing to grow. Meeting this need takes a community called to action. If you feel called to help build a stronger community, please call us at (320) 762-4255 to discuss the giving options available. Thank you for considering some of our partnership opportunities outlined below:

Full House Partner – A business, foundation, or individual benefactor who covers the full construction cost of a home and hands the keys to the new owner at the dedication ceremony.
House Co-Partner – Pays half of the construction cost of the home and shares the honor of handing over the keys with one other organization.
Community Partner – One of several businesses, organizations, or individuals who make a substantial contribution toward the cost of a home and share signage and recognition at the dedication ceremony.
Corporate Team Builder Sponsor – Corporate Team Builders provide volunteers and a monetary donation to reserve a day for team-building on a Habitat worksite. The Team Builder suggested donation is $100 per volunteer.
Event Sponsor – Annual Hard Hat Breakfast, Habitat for Humanity Motorcycle Ride (all ages welcome).

Land – One of our biggest challenges today is finding land to build on in Douglas County, where we’re often competing for available properties with for-profit builders in a market where home prices just keep going up. If you or someone you know may be able to help with donated or discounted land, please contact us to discuss the opportunity.

In-kind materials and labor – The support of vendors and contractors in donations of materials and labor helps us to serve more families. It takes around $100,000 (excluding land costs) to build a Habitat home. In-kind support through the leveraging of vendor partnerships and donated or discounted labor plays an important role in our affiliate’s ability to serve families. Habitat welcomes competitive bidding in our construction bid process, as well as ideas on how contractors may be able to partner with us in serving more families.

All contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.

Habitat is truly blessed by the contributions of so many of our partner organizations. Their mission to donate not only funds, but in-kind contributions, such as materials, tools and equipment, as well as labor to the Christian ministry of Habitat for Humanity is heartfelt. Please support our sponsors and join us in thanking them for their wonderful actions.
