Thousands of women across the country join together May 5 – 13 to build homes with local families
Women volunteers will raise their hammers at Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country in recognition of National Women Build Week, May 5-13. The event is a nationwide initiative of Habitat’s Women Build program developed in partnership with Lowe’s.
Faith-Based
Your church and Habitat
As an ecumenical Christian Ministry, Habitat for Humanity is founded on principles that transcend theological and religious differences. Simply put, Habitat provides people of all faiths an opportunity to live in a decent home. From the partnership of volunteers, sponsors, and homeowners, evolves a network of lasting friendships and communities. Your Congregation can partner with Habitat for Humanity through:
- Remembering Habitat’s challenging mission, our families, volunteers and staff in your prayers
- Inviting a Habitat representative to speak to your congregation
- Facilitating a Habitat fundraiser at your church
- Supporting Habitat’s ongoing mission by organizing volunteers to work on Habitat homes
- Donating to Habitat and help finance new homes for deserving families
Faith-based Partnership
Recognizing that sponsorship of an entire Habitat home may be beyond the means of many small congregations, Habitat has worked in the past with the faith communities to partner together and build a designated home. We will be delighted to work with your congregation to seek out other partners and plan a house with you.
